Deadly Rabies Disease
Rabies disease is very dangerous, which can spread to a
normal person through the skin or mucus membranes in the eyes,
nose, or mouth by saliva of infected animals (Bats, coyotes, foxes,
raccoons, skunks, stray dogs) through a bite.
The rabies virus, which grows in the saliva of infected
animals transmitted to normal humans by bites, and can infect the

Phases of Rabies Disease:
Rabies
Disease moved through phases
1- Incubation phase, which started from days, lasted for weeks before spreading and reached to the
central nervous system, and the person may have no signs and symptoms as must
start treatment to prevent worsening the situation.
2- After several
weeks of incubation, the disease will go to Prodromal Phase which the virus
travel through nerve cells reaching to central nervous system (brain and spinal
cord) which immune system in the human body started to fight against the disease-causing
flu like symptoms and slightly signs of neurological problems can last from 2
to 10 days which the treatment will not be effective.
3- Acute
neurological phase is next when the disease reaches the brain and spinal
cord, causing abrupt damage and symptoms, which can be paralysis for paralytic rabies, which lasts from days to months, and seizures with delirium for furious rabies, which lasts from days to weeks.
4- The last stage
is the human enters to coma phase, which leads to death.
The signs

·
Fever
·
Tiredness
·
Sore throat
·
Muscle pain
·

Treatment and management of Rabies Disease
Rabies Disease must be treated and managed directly after you
get bitten by an infected animal during the incubation phase, with no signs or
symptoms.
The treatment can be cleaning the wound with soap and water
before starting instruction for wound cleaning, next vaccination against the rabies
virus will be started, and antibody treatment if not vaccinated before.
Prevention of Rabies Disease
Rabies disease can be prevented by awareness about
rabies disease, vaccination of your pets, and care after exposure.
Animal control is part of prevention, including alerting to the
infected animal, preventing contact with wild animals, and
preventing bats from entering the home.
With preventive measures, the rabies disease can be reduced and
eradicated.
