Bubonic plague
Introduction:
Bubonic plague is a dangerous
disease that can affect human organs and cause death. There are three types of plague:
bubonic plague, septicemic plague, and pneumonic plague. These plagues appeared
according to the route of infection. This
disease is transferred to humans by infected animals' bites, fluids, or death,
especially mammals like rabbits, hares, and some types of cats also, flea bites
can transfer the disease. This disease must be directly recognized and early
treated to prevent complications and death.
Signs and symptoms of Bubonic plague:
The signs and symptoms of the
disease can appear after seven days of exposure to the bacterium called
Yersinia Pestis from animal bits, fluids, and flea bites. The signs and
symptoms started as flue like symptoms including high-grade fever with seizures,
headache, muscle pain, and can cause nausea, vomiting, stomach upset with lymph
nodes swollen, and pain because bacteria travels through lymphatic vessels and
reached lymph nodes. Later on, if not treated can cause dark discoloration and
necrosis of the skin and can be spread to the vital organs causing death.
Treatment
of Bubonic plague:
The treatment of this disease is
done by several classes of antibiotics. The treatment should start within 24
hours of the symptoms appearing to prevent further complications and death. The
supported therapy includes oxygenation, intravenous fluids, and respiratory
support because those affected by this disease can affect respiration and
lungs.

Bubonic plague prevention must be
from the community and the public in collaboration with health organizations. The
vaccination against plague developed and the community must aware of this
disease and what are preventive measures must be done especially health care
professionals. And the person who is affected must directly start the treatment
as early as possible. The prevention started with animals who are affected and
dead must not be handled only specialized persons from the government who know
and understand the disease's dangerousness and are trained to manage this
situation. The flea that transfers the disease must be pest controlled
especially if the disease occurred.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, this disease is a
dangerous disease if not recognized or not treated as early as possible. The
collaboration between community and governments can this disease be eradicated
with understanding and knowledge about this disease's preventive measures,
vaccination, the mode of transmission, and how to handle the infected animals
and sick persons. By all these measures the disease can be eradicated and keep
the community safe.
